This Coaching Course will help you through the Final Hearing. This hearing will be the last in the process, the Judge will consider all of the facts in the case and an Order will be made. It is not a hearing for the faint hearted, it needs a lot of effort and concentration to get it right, and the very best advice I can give is, if possible, to get a Direct Access Barrister to help you. This course is for those that either cannot afford a Direct Access Barrister, cannot justify the cost or want to represent themselves regardless. It isnt impossible to do yourself, and with the right guidance you should be able to get a decent result, but a lot of work will be involved, all of which is covered on the course. Previous hearings and directions from the court have all beeen about getting you to try to reach a compromise at the FDR Hearing. There will be a variety of reasons why you, or your ex, will want to avoid reaching a compromise, and want to fight it out in court, but some of those reasons will be misguided. As an example of needing to understand your case, I was in a three day hearing recently. I helped the Husband. (Parties in financial cases are refered to as Husband and Wife) He had offered his wife £50,000 at the FDR Hearing to settle. She wanted £100,000. She would not budge. She wanted a Final Hearing. Six months later they had a Final Hearing, three days in court, lots of arguing and squabbling, and he ended up having to pay her £25,000. You need to understand your case. Not only does the paperwork for the Final Hearing need to be right, your offer needs to be sensible, but your attendance at the Final Hearing needs to be confident, and knowing that you are aware of what will happen and how to deal with things that will be considered by the Judge. Thge Hearing will always use cross examination to examine the figures, the assets, and pretty much anything that will affect the future financial needs of each party and particularly the children. There is a skill to doing this type of hearing, it cannot be bluffed, and goign into a Final Hearing and just crossing your fingers is financial suicide.
