<h1 id="809565af-47bc-45bd-9454-a2fbd39da0e9" data-toc-id="809565af-47bc-45bd-9454-a2fbd39da0e9" style="font-size: 32px; font-weight: 600; line-height: 1.2;">Enforcing a Child Arrangement Order - England and Wales</h1>Having been to court and obtained an order, you expect it to be followed. The Court also expect it to be followed. The Court will not keep an eye on whether it is working or not, and so if you find youself in a position where your Ex is constantly breaching the Order you have several choices. You can do nothing, you can go to Mediation or discuss it with them, or you can go to Court for Enforcement.This process is one in which the Court will start from a position of expecting the order to have been followed and that any breach of it is a willfull defiance. They will want to know why it is not being followed and then do what they can to get things back on track again.Depending on the issues and the reason why the order is not being followed, you will need to be realistic and not expect any punishment for your Ex, but it is reasonable to expect that you will be seeing the children again, either under the original arrangement or some other type of compromise. Often that is better than doing nothing and not seeing them anymore.
